I think they r both equally matched. A-Rod pulls the Yankees in Runs throughout the reg. season and Jeter's plays out on the field helps the Yankees keep the lead. As well as Jeter's ability to maintain constant runs that helps them thru the playoffs.
But as players I like Jeter alot better as a player

Lets face it, offense wins games and ARod is an offensive machine. But if I wanted to go have a beer with someone, it would be Jeter. Both are HOFamers and you cant compare different styles. Jeter doesnt have Arods pop, but always has a very good average and makes the big hit or play when its needed. I am not a Yankees fan, but while I respect both as players, I do like Jeter as a person much better.

Right now it's Jeter because he's more clutch. But if ARod continues this streak into the postseason and keeps hitting homeuns at critical times in critical games (like against Seattle during the Wild Card chase or against Boston at any time), then he will be able to take over Jeter's spot. But Jeter has been clutch for many years and has the rings to prove it.

If I just needed a player, I'd take ARod. If I needed a leader, I'd take Jeter.

well, they are both attractive lol but, Alex Rodriguez is a better player. Derek Jeter IS too overrated.

I think Alex Rodriguez, because Jeter doesn't hit home runs like A-Rod does.I think that Jeter is probably one of the best shortstops ever defensively, but not offensively.but he still is a good player.

On paper Alex has better offensive stats and he's probably the better defensive Shortstop between the two. I would rather have Jeter on my team because of the intangibles he brings to the ball field. He is Mr Clutch and makes spectacular play after spectacular play in the field.

Alex Rodriquez hits with greater capability. Derek Jeter hits for a much better known, is a much better protecting participant, and a much better teammate and clubhouse presence. i could say Derek Jeter is larger.

They are both class acts. All the A-Rod haters kiss off. With out A-Rod this year the Yanks would have been in the basement. Jeter is not the best in baseball but he's a leader and a voice for the rest of the players.

Rodriquez is better in all facets of the game. The only place where Jeter trumps him is leadership, but I can find another leader while watching Rodriquez compile one of the great careers in MLB history.
