if you have live breeders such as mollies, guppies etc, they tend to look fatter and more "box like." Guppies have a "gravid spot" that gets darker as the fry develop, sometimes you can even see the eyes of the fry through the gravid spot. Live bearing fish tend to breed constantly as long as males & females are kept together, so chances are if they have not just given birth to fry they are probably pregnant.
Most other fish are egg layers and do not get pregnant, they can look fatter when they are full of eggs, but the eggs are not fertilzed untill the female expels them and the male releases his milt (fish sperm) over the eggs...the fry develop outside the female....
as to what you should do, if your fish is preggo- you could let nature take its course, som fry may survive , you could get some java moss or fake plastic plants in the tank for the fry to hide in. Or you could get a breeder net & another fish tank to house the fry when they outgrow the breeder net but are too small to survive in the parents tank on thier own. Then trade the babies to the pet store for food or supplies. Give them away to your friends, or sell them to someone as feeders for turtles, salamanders, mudpuppies, or fish who need/like live food...

If really depends. You would think fish gets pregnant too like female humans do. Most fish actually lay eggs instead of birthing you. There is a special type of group of fish that the eggs are fertlized inside the female, but they are still don't get pregnant. It just means that the fry/baby fish are developed inside the female instead of egglayes where they lay eggs.

The bala sharks, angel fish, and plecos, are no longer an determination for a thirty gallon aquarium. Balas must be saved in communities of a minimum of six and could advance as much as a foot long (adult males are greater suitable). reliable job on having maximum of cories. many human beings in basic terms purchase them in small numbers, i'm going to wager yours love being in this form of enormous group. i could seem at your tank and examine out and fill contained in the sparkling swimming point. you have you backside dwellers (cories) and you have you floor dwellers (bettas), a set of six tetras could occupy the middle area of the tank. i could initiate with a tribulation group of three tetras to be sure how your bettas react, and if all is going nicely after some days upload the suitable 3. I vote for cardinal tetras because of the fact they have that finished stripe of crimson by their bodies.

well if it is find out like what type she give birth to such as live or egg, get a breeder cup (the thing you put in the tank so you seperate them so the others dont eat the babies) find your source of info on the net, and monitor her constantly and keep a recored so you know how far along she is cause sometimes it doesnt tke but a few weeks or so. just so you ae ready for the transition to the breeder cup(as i like to call it)
cause there are some that give to live babies
