Clinton Portis or Brandon Jacobs? I'm not sold on Portis, who is going up against a great run defense (Miami) and is an injury risk.

Jacobs has proven himself worthy to be the starting RB for the Giants. Portis is meeting his match and like you said, hes injury prone. Trust me, you will be satisfied with Jacobs.

Everybody else picks Jacobs. That should tell you something. The NYG aren't even sure who their #1 rusher will be. Jacobs had a poor pre-season. I'm hearing there may be some rookie that Giants are high on who may take that slot. Giants go against Dallas and NOBODY has been running on them in pre-season. Defense under new coach Phillips has come alive with new attacking philosophy. Jacobs may not get 50 yards.
Portis is #1 back. Running game not much but your decision is can Portis squeeze out a few more than Jacobs ? Another thought: teams that are ahead are likely to run more than teams behind. Which team is more likely to have the lead in the 2nd half ?

Brandon Jacobs for this week for sure. Portis is coming off injuries and will split carries in week one and Jacobs figures to do fairly well as the main back in New York. Portis will get better if he stays healthy, but for this week, i'd go Jacobs for sure.

If you're gonna use Portis at all, now is the time (BEFORE he breaks down)
Jacobs is up against the Dallas defense- you like that matchup better? I think they're a wash.
Remember Portis' first run from scrimmage as a Redskin.

Jacobs for sure, portis isnt even a lock to start, and even if he does may split carries with betts. Jacobs has potential for big numbers, should be interesting to see how he plays as a feature back now with Tiki gone.
