Thankfully, yes.
At the start, we agreed to limit ourselves to only two children but there are times -- like when my wife holds a newborn baby -- that she gets that gleam in her eyes and she scoots a little closer to me on the couch at night.
Thankfully, for 16-plus weeks of the year, I'm sitting on the floor, with my laptop on the coffee table, pouring over my Fantasy Football teams.
Ain't love grand?

Coming from a person who has 8 fantasy teams...it destroys my time with my wife.
Its really really bad because there are some nights that I stay up until like 2 am just reading notes and going over stats, projected matchups, even scouting other teams.
I love my fantasy football. No matter how bad or good some of my teams are, i'm always looking. Always wanting to make that extra trade to get a better guy, looking for that key free agent. In fact most of the time i'm logged onto my email on my phone so I can check it if something happens in FF.
Its sad really...but its my time and she dreads this part of this year. Also sucks that Madden comes out at the same time for her.
I can honestly say it has killed mine.
Good luck!!

People aren't very productive when worrying about who their starting WRs will be... So in that regard, fantasy football makes me much MORE productive! I set my lineups and I'm free to focus fully on daily tasks :) In fac,t I'm more energized and eager to start the day during football season.
Now this is football I'm talking about- where games take place on the weekends and you set your lineups for that week's games anytime before the deadline.
I think rotisserie games like baseball and basketball where games are being played every night and you're trying to track statistics all season long are WAY too much of a time sink- you've gotta login every day and tinker. That's why I don't participate in those types of leagues any more.

Let me tell you, I may sound like my parents, but there is definitely a statistical decline in my grades during Fantasy Football season. (Not to mention during the NFL season) Besides for the fact that I check the waiver wire every night, offer a few trades every couple-o-days, and the like, if I'd put all the time and effort into research papers and essays that I put into Fantasy Football, I'd be one happy camper.... I'd be finished everything by now.
Thankfully, I pulled myself out of the hypnosis of Fantasy Football and stepped down from my 3-year reign as champion of the league...I guess leaving when you're at your peak is better than crawling out!

I always say it does not decrease my productivity, but I am sure it does. I like that I only have to submit my lineup once a week as opposed to daily with fantasy baseball, but I am always checking the news every day anyhow, so in short - yes, it really does.

It definitely affects your productivity. During my last year of university, I was probably spending upwards of 10 to 15 hours / week looking at stats and adjusting rosters.
This week, I've already spent probably 4 or 5 hours on my teams. Not bad considering we just had our draft on Monday.

I don't check fantasy football at school, but I might check it when I should be doing my homework... I still do it though, I just check fantasy first.
