The longer he goes with a 0.00 era the longer we will hype him up.
He is being treated no differently than Paplebon who had the same effect on fans.

I think his upside is phenomenal but the Yankees are handling this properly. Look at Johann Santana. The Twins used him sparingly and look at where he is now. I agree that letting him work on consecutive days would show how good he could be but when you are a starter in the making it is not worth the risk of injury when that is what your future will be. Give the kid time and he will be as good as advertised and I think he will go through a period where he struggles cause teams will figure him out and that is where he will need to make the adjustment to get hitters out. Even the best pitchers in the league go through that and find a way to make adjustments to the hitters.

Phil Hughes is my popular and additionally the single i think would be maximum effectual. Ian Kennedy is the main polished of the three getting into this season, he does strike a twine in me of a youthful Mike Mussina yet with a miles greater effective fastball. yet i think he stands out as the third ultimate from the bunch, yet nonetheless third ultimate would be getting very almost 20 wins in keeping with season and could have an era around 3.25 to 3.50. And Joba, the particular one, he could desire to be left interior the bullpen so he ought to succeed the final closer interior the history of baseball, Mariano Rivera. he would be #2 purely because of the fact Hughes stands out as the ace of the staff for years. yet #2 is going to get you 40 plus saves and an era around 2.00 and properly over 9 strikeouts in keeping with inning. Any way you place it if those adult adult males develop right into a million/2 what they're think to the Yankees would be spending a brilliant style of money on those 3 adult adult males for destiny years and we will see a brilliant style of #31, #sixty two and #sixty 5 jerseys in new Yankee Stadium.

I've seen enough to declare him "the real deal". The "Joba Rules" are strict but necessary. He has thrown more pitches this season than he has in his life. He is just too valuable to risk overusing him. Next season, he will be used just like any other pitcher and I, for one, am willing to wait.

I think he is as good as we have seen lately and the Yankees are holding him back. He's been used to pitching every 5th day and 90-100 pitches per game. Why stop that now? He throws in the upper 90's to low 100's thats special.

Until it is proved otherwise, he is the real deal.
Lots of pitchers come up to the big leages and have immediate success because nobody knows what to expect from them.
But NOBODY has done what Joba has done in the past 107 years.

I subscribe to the Ichiro work out, throw every day. I think he should be playing more so he will get stronger. i have turned my arm around 180 degrees, it used to hurt all the time now I am 35 and throw everyday (for 4 years now) i am playing amature ball again.
From a managerial standpoint if you keep him to a limited number of innings the other teams watching won't be able to see how to beat this guy.

Steinbrenner would NEVER let a player make the rules. Neither would Torre, but he'll looks at Joba's "rules" as suggestions and go along with them if they're reasonable.

He is not as good, right now, as many think he is or want him to be, but he has a huge up-side potential. The Yankees knew in 2006, when they picked him up, that they had something special but it would take some time to realize his full potential. I believe he is special but he is still a few years away from the big numbers that many believe he will put up.

a little of both what i mean is hitters haven't figured him out yet he won't have a 0.00 era his entire career and he a going to be good no doubt though from what i've seen his pitches are nasty and most pitchers who throw 100 make out to be great closer although i do think he'll end up starting he'll probably be a #2 starter his career but he could surprise me
