Have you ever considered you are paying the wrong price! I for one would rather live free! Free of oppression, free from fear, free, free, free! If I were to die from a terrorist attack tomorrow, no one would need to feel for me for I lived and died a free man! I would rather die free than live a long life of fear any day. This is the true price of freedom. Not fear, not fight them there so we don't have to fight them here... but that you could die any day because you are free. If we aren't willing to pay that price.. then we do not deserve freedom at all.

I guess I'm trying to figure out who is living in fear. Being vigilant and taking steps to protect ones self certainly doesn't indicate fear.............

Freedom isn't free. Freedom is expensive, hard to get and hard to keep. The price is paid in responsibility and hard work.
If you need a government to protect you, you're not free.
How are you a free man? By making your own choices and taking all the responsibility for them.
Free for any restrictions on gun laws? YES, it's the nature of the second amendment. You're free to have a gun and you're responsible for it.
What freedoms do you loose? (I guess you're asking about the current socialist system)
- Your freedom to keep your hard earned money (now taken away by taxation to pay for a war overseas)
- Your freedom of putting in your body whatever you want (smoking ban, fat ban, drug war)
- Your freedom of going wherever you want whenever you want (checkpoints, national ID)
- Your freedom of being secure in your person, house, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures. (airport checkpoints, bus terminals, checkpoints NY subway checkpoints) (Fourth amendment, so you can call it your right)
The list goes on but there's not enough space here.
Under socialism, you're willing to die to be safe (send someone else to die actually) but not die to be free.
Remember Benjamin Franklin
"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

There are those that are happy standing in the handout lines at the food banks, clothes banks, and receive a fat check every year for living Free.
There are those that would rather stand and Fight to climb that monetary ladder to success, comfort and pleasure.
For those whom Stand and Fight pay dearly for those willing to live Free.
We pay for the peace to walk our streets day and night.
We pay to build our Hospitals that provide excellent health care.
We pay to drive our cars on smooth paved streets.
We pay to maintain natural areas of the States for our children to enjoy.
We pay to educate our children. If in private schools --we pay twice.
We pay to have a Great Military to protect our rights to feel safe in our country. To keep our fears at bay.
This is not Free.
It is the Freedom we as a "long lived whole" have chosen over many years to save us from the oppression of Dictatorships.
The constant batteling among ourselves is creating an internal Dictatorshop that within itself is not Free of Fear.

So then are people free to live in fear if they want? You got your wish. You can die any time and are free to live without fear if you are not afraid to do so. If you're not afraid to die, then what is your problem with other people being free to make war if they want to?Actually, you're just more afraid of the government that's sworn to protect you than the one's that want to kill you. So don't fear fear itself and live free or die ok?

and what exactly freedom do you lose??? just curious...
for Liberals keep using the quote from Benjamin Franklin:
He died 200 years ago! and there were no Islam jihadists beheading people then.

Alright....but exactly HOW are you a free man?
It all goes back to the Revolution and becoming a free country.
The road of freedom is paved in the blood of those dying to keep you free!

I know, they all say "Freedom isn't free" to justify the war, and then they support giving up their freedoms by supporting the Patriot Act. It baffles me.

I completely agree. I think Benjamin Franklin phrased it best with
"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. "
