Color cast is an overall tint, most often from taking a picture using one set of light settings (say outdoor) in another setting (say indoor) My Nikon 995 Coolpix is very nice, but if I take an indoor picture with natural light that is not too bright, the pictures all have a yellow tint to them.
I use Paint Shop Pro and in that under Effect / Photo Effects / Automatic Color Correction, the program examines the photo and notes the color bias and offers a choice to bring it back to "natural" color.
