As it turns out, nobody really knows for sure. Part of the reason the old numbers have been questioned is that many of those studies were on a volunteer basis, and there was concern that the population was skewed to those that were confident with their size. More medically based studies suggest that indeed 5" is the average.
It also is true that many women (and men) don't have a good feel for relative length simply by looking at it. Most women would be quite surprised to see what 6 inches translates to in that department.
Furthermore, the relative health and profitbability of male enhancement pills and other methods suggests that many men are not satisfied with their size and this is perpetuated by the myth that 6" is average, making the vast majority of men feel that they are small.
I'm not sure that this helps, but if you google it, you will find many sources citing the 6" number, but if you find the sources for the 5" number you will find greater credibility and a more scientific approach.
As an aside, the numbers GREATLY vary when you are talking about non-aroused. Some men that are much larger than the average size when aroused can appear quite small in the non-arousal state while those that appear good sized there, do not get much large in the aroused state.

Average size is about 5 5/8" with 1/2 of men being that or bigger and the other 1/2 being that or smaller. Only 5% of men are 7 or longer. That's big.
Also, remember, the measurement is not from the underside of the unit. Rather it is from the top side, from tip to where the shaft meets the abdomen. That shortens up most measurements, as most people go for the longer measurement from the testicles along the bottom.

Average height of a man, weight, penis size? What? I know you've been with only your husband, and you may be a little sheltered, but you can say it...most of the time, since the Answers nazis are on the prowl.
By the way, if it's the ladder, then 6" is average. Ladies, come on. Have you ever seen one that's 4"? That's not average.

About 5' 10" and 215 lbs. Just joking. Somewhere between 4-6 is average size, but are you talking just length or circumference as well?

They say 80% of men are the same size 5 inches. The other 20% are either smaller or bigger.

I think it's like 5 or 6 inches...
Some can be bigger or smaller, thin or thick.... every man is different...
Hubby is 7.5inchs (I measured one night while he laughed and had a hard time keeping it hard) so he's a little longer but he's a little on the thin side.
It doesn't really matter if you two "fit" together well.
