Depending on the email client that you are using. If using a local one could be some local settings, but with your CPU an email client should fly.

Also depends on what functions are you talking about. If talking about general function also could be local settings, if you are talking about getting the emails from server this has to do with the internet connection and dial'up is a pretty old and limited system

It's because of your slow dial-up connection. You download at about 4 kbs compared to a 1.5 DSL at about 160k. An email that would take the DSL one second to download will take you about 40 seconds!

YES, dial up is so SLOW but your PC is also slow because of small RAM. Increase it to at least 512mb. BUT 2x512mb is great if you are on XP.

it depends on tha email cilent...if ur using dialup its better to use yahoo mail light version
