Having a heavy "accent", I get that question all the time. Problem is, I am "native" to the area where I live and have the accent because I am deaf. So it is always fun to give me some kind of a weird answer, such as I am Norwegian because I lived in a town called "Norway" for a few months.
Usually people are not trying to be "rude", but it can get "annoying" after enough times of being asked.

It could be worse.... they could be asking if your pregnant. If your a girl and your not that is awefully offensive. And if your a guy then that is offensive in a whole different level!!!
