precise now, human beings have confidence the international revolves around us. In maximum procedures it does. We proved ourselves as a superpower in WW1 and WW2, and we tried to proceed that mantality interior the Vietnam conflict. at the instant although, often after Vietnam, and the 1960's, we experience that the international nonetheless revolves around us, and we do not something save it that way. mothers and fathers whinge how we've stupid little ones who do not decide for to flow to college, yet on a similar time we inspire those self same little ones to flow social gathering, and play videogames. They do not something, and so their little ones are spoiled brats. They turn a shoulder, and say it is okay, whilst their little ones initiate mimicking what they observed in a stoner action picture. interior the close to destiny, by using outsourcing, loss of motivation, undesirable parenting, laziness, and stupidity, international places like China, India, and Japan are going to overthrow the U.S. because of the fact the "King of the international." Our situation is made worse via the debate over unlawful immigration, and the conflict in Afghanistan and Iraq. To get decrease back to our unique glory, we could desire to inspire guidance, inspire being clever, and inspire hard paintings because of the fact the only thank you to be something.

I dont think this problem is confined to america. People dont know their own history yet they know all the actors in a movie and the lyrics to the latest songs and can sing all the annoying ads on TV.

Well history is not always accurate, it just depends on who is telling the story and what the story is. A good example of this is the historical accounts of Columbus Day. Places of interest change from person to person. My son always says "Mom what you like and what I like are 2 different things." and he is right about that.

Yes, you're right. It is a shame what people know and remember.
When I taught Social Studies many, many years ago, I quizzed my students as to was their mayor, who was the governor, etc. Many of their parents didn't know the information, but their children did.
People pick and chose what they want to remember and what is important to them. Unfortunately, many remember the pop culture stuff. We are bombarded with that stuff everyday.
Many won't watch the evening news- too sad, too boring, too dull.
We come across as very ignorant in terms of civics and government.

Yes, as an American I too am distressed, disturbed, and disgusted at some of the Q's here. Either through sheer lazyness or idiocy, its a disturbing state of affairs in this nation.

I don't mind if Americans are mindless idiots, because I'm not an American. In fact, I kind of relish it.

we pay way more attention to fun upbeat things unlike politics and that stuff but we do do that some times as well but if it is fun upbeat and stuff it just sticks in our heads.
