Can anyone tell me which processor is faster : - PENTIUM 4 3.00GHZ or CELERON 2.66GHZ?
The reason i ask is my mum bought herself a new computer (pentium 4) but she cant get used to vista she can only use xp which my computer (celeron) has and I said I would swap if hers had a faster processor. I use my comp mainly for gaming and some web design.

The Pentium 4 is faster. Celeron is Intel's budget line of processors.

Pentium 4 is faster. It's a higher speed and got the maths co-processor which the Celeron hasn't so the P4 is better at graphics.

Pentium 4, 3.0 Ghz of course, because of sheer speed and bigger L2 cache. Celerons are typically "castrated" Pentiums.
BUT the NEW Celerons (Conroe L) are much better; riding on the Core2 Duo technology leap.

The 3GB P4 will stomp the celeron mainly because of the difference in the cache.

PENTIUM 4 3.00GHZ is definitely faster when compared to CELERON 2.66GHZ.

the 3.00 is faster and the celeron is the basement
though some of your games might no recognize vista.
