Funny that they call it The Patriot Act when it is the least patriotic thing ever done. The Bush administration is playing the 9/11 card to get us to give up civil liberties wherever possible. We now know that David Addington said "We are one bomb away from getting rid of that court" referring to the FISA court (which monitors federal surveillance of international terrorists) and the electronic wiretapping plan. There is no more clear statement that they wish to use the terrorist threat to take away your civil liberties.

Don't celebrate just yet... it might face appeals. What do we have to hide from the FBI to be worried about anyway? I didn't see that anywhere in the constitution where the government could protect its people by obtaining information over the internet or other means.

I wonder if our laws would allow terrorists to operate here in the states because of the ACLU.... oh, wait.... 9/11 already happened. You go ahead and cheer though.

I would agree with you.

To some dude: Conservatism dictates that the federal govts job is to protect the people without infringing upon any of their rights. Same as what the United States Constitution outlines. The Judge was absolutely correct in his decision.

Yes, I for one AM HAPPY about it! As far as I am concerned the whole dam thing is unconstitutional!

And the the person above..what does the "Patriot" act have to do with catching terrorists when they can come easily through the southern border? Answer: It doesn't have anything to do with that, but it has EVERYTHING to do with controlling the masses. Didn't know peace activists were terrorists, because that is the only people they have targeted with the dam piece of paper!

I am very happy about it, and it's about time. We cannot fight terrorism by giving up our own freedoms. That means the terrorists win by getting exactly what they want - destroying our freedoms and way of life.

Um, yah know the constitution when it was built never envisioned us fighting these kind of people. I know I will be ostracized for saying this, but to survive some freedoms must be undermined, even the constitution to a point.

If the constitution is still recognizable. There are a lot of things being changed on it. If we change for the better then fine, but right now i have my doubts. They hide other things everywhere. If we vote on one theres usually another hidden in there somewhere. I hope it is on the up and up. If so score one for our side.

To bad they didn't get around to until now. The war on drugs already destroyed much of our bill of rights.

Liberal judges always find things unconstituntional about conservative policies they don't like through some hidden meaning somewhere with thier great knowledge of the constitution.

Yet somehow; ''the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed,'' is so unclear.

''Unconstitutional'' has been turned into a b.s. term that means ''we don't like and aren't in your political party.''

The judicial branch should in near entirety be dissolved.
