I suggest waiting until your baby decides to come out! Just try to be patient!

I have been induced twice out of my three pregnancies. All three times I tried to start my own labor by doing several of the things that are suggested to start labor, such as: lots of walking, nipple stimulation, sex, pumping with a breast pump, bouncing on a ball in attempt to thin my cervix. After doing all of it, in my opinion, you can't start labor without drugs unless your body is ready to deliver. I was induced with my first two pregnancies, with my third, I was doing about an hour of walking every night the 39th week of my pregnancy, and went into labor 6 days before my due date. I WOULD NOT suggest using castor oil, as this will just make you ill and will not cause labor. If you do decide to do anything ANYONE other than your doctor suggests, prepare to potentially hurt yourself or your baby. TALK to your doctor, share your mental state and physical ailments. Maybe he/she will be able to recommend something to help. Good Luck!

No I don't think it would be very safe. Just be patient. I think if you make it to 40 weeks then you can try to induce. Although I was 2 weeks overdue with my first and I tried everything, nothing worked.
75 jumping jacks
bumpy car, or hayride
sex
nipple stimulation
glass of wine
walking
castor oil (don't recommend)
And I've heard about some type of tea
Good luck, but don't do anything to soon it might hurt your baby.

Statistics show the C-sec rate is double for inductions compared to natural births. Also the pitocin can cause jaundice in the newborn. There is also a risk of uterine rupture. Most people also say induced labors are much more painful.

It is not particularly safe or effective to induce labor either naturally or otherwise. The safest thing is to wait for labor to begin on its own. If your body isn't ready, you're more likely to start contractions that will stress the baby and tire you out, and then stop.

Why are you not in your city?

It's not safe for you to try to do it yourself, not at all. Technically, we have 40 weeks of pregnancy, so doc may make you wait for another week or so. However, call him and talk to him, he will do what's best for you and baby. DO NOT INDUCE LABOR YOURSELF, it's SO unsafe and you could harm your baby as well as yourself. I never did go into labor with any of mine, and I have 4 kids. I had to go to the hospital and they started my labor there. It's safe that way cause I had it done all 4 times with no problems. Call your doc. GOod luck and God Bless.
