(I'm 36, male, 100% strait all my life, & I'd hate it if gays try to pick me up again,-a couple have tried back in the early 90's but anyway),-ever since they came out, I've worn a large leather one or black one since the early '90's, & I never leave the house without it-(ya, any other colors do look gay) I carry art supplies-(I draw wherever I go), cigarettes., cell, pills, etc. but after 10-15 yrs., someone recently told me "out of the blue"-it's why I rarely date cause of it, (except 40+ women off & on) before I carried a fanny-pack I had a back-pack & I don't wanna set it down & risk loosing it, I get around on a mountain bike, I don't have a car, (anyway, should I go back to backpacks only after 15 yrs of a fanny-pack or what's your opinion?) -I got my name back then cause of my art, NOT cause I'm gay.

lol my mom used to wear them when i was younger. so embarrassing. She still wears them now with her spandex, doesnt bother me as much because i learned to appreciate how "special" she is. lol.

DUDE!!! ARe you homophobic or what? Why did you mention how not gay you are so many times in the question. Gay or straight... fanny packs are out! They are totally tacky and send the message that you do not have an ounce of style in your being... it doens't even matter if it is leather or not. And.. if this is the case, and you don't care about fashion... then let it be. but you wouldn't have posted if you didn't care. So lets switch back to the back pack....or even better... are wooden art kit! I am sure you could find some sort of case for the rest of your goodies (you should drop the smoking habit, you will have a better change of getting the girl if you don't taste like a butt)
but if you are on a bike all the time you should go with a conventional back pack or sling sac!

I personally don't like fanny packs lol. Fanny... anyway do what you want. If it makes you feel better carry a bag or backpack. Like you said you might lose it somewhere but do what feels most comfy to ya. Fanny packs come in handy and they are always with you so its all up to you. I mean if you carry something around all the time you shouldn't forget a back pack and leave it. You'd feel like your missing something and not forget to leave it. Me personally if I were you I'd carry something other than a Fanny pack. A backpack or one of those trendy bags that go over one side of your shoulder. Those are hot.

Okay, first of all, carrying a fanny pack (you being a guy) looks EXTREMELY gay. Just stop right now. And maybe you should invest in a car or something, because you can't pick up a date on a mountain bike. And you just sound very weird.

ditch the fanny pack now get a man bag or murse (man purse) they are not gay especially since you sound like an artsy guy or go to a back pack but i think a man bag would look a bit better on a man who is 36 and doesn't have a car especially w/ ray ban wafers nice jeans and a cool tee u would look very cool

A fanny pack makes you look lame & that is probably why you don't date.
I get that it's convient for you to use one but you do need to upgrade your man baggage. Try a messenger bag. They have some really nice ones out now & they carry a lot. There are a lot of options for Men out there that aren't as fashion challanged as a fanny pack.
BTW: being Gay has nothing to do with it. Fanny packs make you look lame & out of touch. Upgrade, you wont be sorry...

Fanny packs are laughable, sorry. They are very ugly. Ditch it and go for a backpack. You're old enough and should be responsible enough to take care of a bag without leaving it somewhere.

a fanny-pack is a male purse, and a backpack's not much better. I would definately not date a guy who carried one. I wouldn't assume you were gay just because of it though.

Oh dear, fanny packs are heinous. Get rid of it immediately. Consider burning it so that no one will pull it out of the trash and be similarly cursed.
