David Wells went from Padres to Dodgers and Brett Tomko went from Dodgers to Padres. Was it easier this way, or what?

I guess they wanted to lower salaries in the process...not improve as both suck!

I listened to that last night, the explanation was it would have been easier as a trade, perhaps the trade deadline had something to do with it, and we are wittnesing a back door deal. YOu may be on to something?

Its not a trade. Both were designated for assignment and picked up off waivers by the other teams.

Both players were released by their teams and were picked up by the other team, they were not traded for each other. Since any team could have had a chance to sign these players it can't be considered a trade.
