The US claims that Iran's nuclear program is for weapons. Iran contends that it is for nuclear energy. In my opinion, I think the US feels threatened by their power in the middle east, b/c I think that the more control the US has over the middle east, the more we can get ahold of their oil. That's just my opinion though.

Well the Chinese and Russians are not helping the West with the sanctions and contiue to sell them arms and nuclear technology. A nuclear Iran would be a threat to all of our European allies and we have the most skilled and technologically advanced military in the world. The complete destruction of Iranian military and nuclear sites is very plausible and very well may be the next step we take. Frightened? No, I can't wait to see the end of Radical Islam and it should start in the nest where it is being continually propagated.

Anyone that fights a two front war is considered a fool a three front insane, however it's interesting to note certain forces are sort of located is strategic locations isn't it?
And of course how did this "news" leak out? Could it be a simple hey you over there wake up we mean business? I've been in the military, we have a plan for thousands of scenarios, for Cuba, China, Canada and even Aruba for crying out loud. That's what the military does, plans for every possibility no matter how far fetched.
And besides they only have one gas refinery, take it out, blockade any gas from coming in and their military is at a stand still anyway with in a week or two.

The military does plan for all kinds of eventualities, some of them more likely than others. We currently have ICBMs and nuclear submarines targetting Russia and China. We don't intend to use them, but we're ready to if they attack us. Similarly, there are probably contingency plans for virtually any country becoming hostile. Some poor schumck in the Pentagon is probably responsible for keeping a plan current against the possibility of Mexican troops massing on the border for an invasion, for instance.

They are arming insurgents in Iraq, even sending some of their Elite Soldiers, uniformless. They are also developing Nuclear Material that can be made into Nuclear Weapons. The worry is that they will give either Weapons grade Uranium, or a Nuclear Weapon to al Qaida or Hezbollah.

1) Iran openly calls for the genocide of other countries.
2) Iran supports terrorist groups, including ones which attack Americans.
3) Iran is building nuclear weapons.
1 + 2 + 3 = pretty clear threat
And just to clear up some of the idiotic comments made above..
Syria will not attack Israel, they lack the military strength to be a serious threat on their own. And they are not going to get support from any of their Sunni neighbors who consider Iran a larger threat than Israel.
Russia will not jump in to save Iran, there is no benefit for them in doing so. And they sure as hell don't want Iran to have nukes.. as the possibility for some of those weapons to end up in Chechen hands is far to real.
China won't jump in to save Iran, again there is no benefit for them there. They'd alienate their largest trading partner and seriously screw over their economy for nothing. And they're another country with Islamic terrorism.. they don't want to have to deal with nuclear armed terrorists either.

Because they have the 2nd largest oil reserve and are wanting to do trade with the Euro and not the dollar.
There is not any way we can take out their military in 3 days. I agree with other people...this is NOT Iraq.

Iran has declared that Israel cannot exist and is a "one bomb war". That is a threat of nuclear destruction. We have interests in the region. They have also threatened the US.
They are developing a Nuclear program. That is not acceptable. Even Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter have agreed upon that. If they are developing a Nuke, and are close to an operational one, then their military capabilities have to be destroyed.

Iran has been at war with the US since the 1970's. Their leader is a radical muslim zealot that believes Mohammed will return in his lifetime. They are primarily behind the insurgent activity in Iraq. This is a proven fact. They are trying to develop nuclear weapons. We should start bombing them now.

So you are believing hearsay? Don't believe everything you hear. The US will only take out their military if it becomes a nuclear problem.
