I am a White soc fan. How do the Indians continue to win on luck? I have never seen a team so lucky. It will be undair if they win the worls series or mak the plaeoffs becuase they are so lucky. They are riding on dumb luck to the division title. It is so unfair. My white soc should be in first. Look at the Indians lineup. It's susk. They couldn't hit there way ouit of a paper bag and the only ok pitcher is Sabathia who is bad most of the time.

Rather then criticizing the most atrocious spelling this side of a dyslexic convention, (sorry - even dyslexic people know how to use spell check.) I will attempt to answer this in an intelligent way.
Winning teams always seem to get lucky, don't they? The reason for this is not so much that they get lucky more frequently, but because they can take advantage of those breaks when they get them. A team like the White Sox (little hint - at least learn to spell the name of the team you are a "fan" of) gets breaks as well, but a lucky run doesn't make the difference if you are getting beat 10-2. To think that the White Sox should be in first place is ridiculous - the bottom line is they had a bunch of guys that all had nearly career years all at once in 2005. The fact is that they have done nothing to improve the team since then, and now are showing what they truly are - a plain old bad baseball team.
Although I am a Cubs fan who lives in Chicago, I follow the Sox very closely, and count a good number of their fans as my friends. Even my wife is a Sox fan. I have never been more thankful to know so many Sox fans as I am today, if for no other reason then I know that you do not represent the intelligence of a typical Sox "fan".
For you folks reading this question, don't judge all Sox fans based on the lack of intelligence this fan has shown.

Your Sox won in 2005...get over it. Right now they are bad and cant hold a candle to the current Indians team. I am not a Tribe fan but your opinion of luck is biased. I am not sure of a lineup that has Sizemore, Garko, Martinez, Sabathia, Betancourt, and Carmona susk. Overall they are good, young team.

That's idiotic. First winning in sports is all about taking advantage of opportunities, whether it be walks or errors in baseball or turnovers in football.

Secondly, as far as stats go, Sabbathia is 6th in the AL in ERA, 3rd in wins. Carmona is 8th in ERA and 6th in wins. Paul Byrd is 25th in ERA. Now, let's summarize that - the Indians having 3 of the top 25 pitchers on their rotation. That completely ignores the fact that Westbrook has been pitching very well lately, winning 5 out of his 6 August starts. Oh, and the Tribe's top two relievers are sporting ERAs in the ballpark of 1.5...but yeah, Sabbathia is about the end of the line for Cleveland and his Cy Young caliber year is, at best, "ok".

Now hitting. It would seem that if, in fact, the Indians could not hit their way out of a paper bag, then the rest of the AL is in a whole lot of trouble since the Tribe ranks 5th in total runs scored. For those of us counting there are 14 teams in the AL.

All that aside, you're probably right...all just luck.

They're just a Good team and they lead Detroit 7 Games and Magic Number is at 17, if they continue to play like this they will win the American League Central Division, and the ALCS, maybe World Series but that's asking too much.

wow are you a sore sport, are you kidding me they have two of the best starting pitchers, they are in the top 5, and the closer might be closing in on leading saves. I know you're not really a White Sox, fans because even they are smart enough to spell White Sox. lay of that crack buddy and eventually you will be alright.

so what is it are you not really a White Sox fan or ar you a White Sox fan with the spelling skills, a well as about the same knowledge of baseball as my 5 year old nephews.

The Indians are winning because they have a solid team. Good teams hang around long enough in a game to catch a break and win, and that is what the Indians have been doing all year. The next thing you are going to tell us is that the White Sox are losing because they are unlucky. Cream always rises to the top and good teams find a way to win.

Yeah, hitting .304 with runners in scoring position with 2 outs as a team is dumb luck.

Talk about dumb luck, what about Perzinski getting to first on a wild pitch BS that happened in the '05 ALCS.

Don't be a hater. Fire your coach, he sucks.

I haven't really been paying too much attention to the Indians this year, other than I know they're winning the division. But, I do know that the White Sox are having a miserable year. If any team "deserves" to win the division, it's the Tigers

the Angels are going to break the Indians' backs starting tonight, just as the Angels broke the Mariners' backs a couple of weeks ago. After the Angels swept the Mariners, what are they 1 - 9 in last ten games?
