I am thanking my grandparents for their support of me throughout my school years. I said thank you for all of your support both monetarily and ____________. I need a word to go in the blank that means: in speach. They always encourage on the phone, or in emails.

how about:
"...thank you for your support; you encouragement, your listening ear, warm heart, and generosity helped me reach my goals. It would not have been possible without you..."

sometimes more words with your thoughts and feelings convey more than a couple of concise words....

just a suggestion.

How about you change the sentence structure just a bit. Perhaps you could say something like, "thank you for your monetary support and for all of the encouragement you've provided throughout my school years..."

I'd reword a bit and thank them for their encouragement as well as monetary support. Also that "I want you to know it means a great deal to me. I am truly thankful for you and your support."
