Schwab ,

Do your homework on Yahoo finance , (fast , free and all the pertinent data plus you can have hypothetical portfolios there ) . Make sure to use the key stats link for each equity to check their debt / revenue and YOY (year of year) growth .

Then , when you think you have a keeper - go Schwab for the trades .

Sharebuilder is better for a beginner, you can pick lots of stocks if you want and only invest a few bucks in each. You set up a debit to your checking account for say $100 per week, pick 6 stocks and $16.67 gets invested in each one every week...

try zecco . i used for half year . with 50 free trades no problem at all
