Where and when did stairs/steps first get used?

I was sweeping some stairs today and it occured to me what a clever idea that was! Who (which culture) thought of that?!?

Yes my job is that borring!

stairs were used back in biblical times, and probably back in the cave man area, it,s human nature to use something to step up on,
