Oh yeah!!! It can show a negative result. I was told I did it at the wrong time of day and a bunch of other stuff.

Congradulations if you are!

It is very possible that you may be pregnant. If your HPT was negative, it may have been to early. Even if you took it when it said too. If the level of HcG was still very low, it would not register on a home test, but it will with the blood test. A full week after I was due to get my period I was still getting negative test results from the hpt, and I was pregnant. The best way to get the most accurate answer is to wait until the 1st day of your missed period, and use first morning urine which contains the highest levels of the pregnancy hormone. Good luck, and I hope you get the answer you are looking for.

If you take a test before your HCG hormones are high enough to detect then yes it will give a negative result.. I did the same thing with my first son and then took one later and it came out positive.. But blood work doesnt lie, so if you are will know sooner than later..

Yes, it could be neg when you really are. The blood test should tell you. When did you have the test done? It only takes about an hour to get the results back from a blood test, so if it's been longer, I would call your provider and find out!!!
Good Luck!!

The home pregnancy tests aren't always effective. The blood test is the most accurate. If it shows up negative, you know you are in the clear. It happened to me... I took 3 tests and they showed up negative. Waited for my blood test results over the weekend, that Monday, the doc called and said that I was pregnant.

Yes it is possible that you took it too early or that the hormone isn't stong enough in your body yet to show up (you have to be sure to use the first morning urine, it will have the highest levels). A blood test is much more accurate though. I would just wait for the results of that.

Yes,
It's very likely that would happen..
My sister took FOUR of those first responce tests and they all showed up negative but then she went to the doctor and the blood work showed positive hcg hormone.

If you took a test today it might be positive. A blood test will tell you for sure, so wait until you get the results. If it's neg. you're most likely not pregnant.

Yes, blood tests are always more accurate. And you can get a negative result if you take a home pregnancy test too early.

Yes - you cannot rely on a pregnancy test to give you 100% positive result as the pack will say!

Going to see the doc as you have is the only way to be sure

Yes it is possible. A blood test is much more accurate than a urine test. With a urine test you have to be at least 28 days late and with a blood test pregnancy can be detected within 48hr of conception.
