Vasectomy is really quite a simple procedure. It can even be done in the doctor's office. It usually takes around 15 minutes. The skin of the scrotum is numbed then one or two small incisions are made to access the vas deferens, the tube that carries the sperm from the testicles. The 2 vas deferens are then cut and tied off to prevent the passage of the sperm. The skin is then sewed up and its done!
This is can be done by a surgeon but your family doctor may also do this.
It is not true that he won't be able to "finish." The sperm or its lack thereof has nothing to do with orgasm or ejaculation. The semen, which is the fluid that he ejaculates, is produced in the prostate, not the testicles. Its just the sperm that is taken out of the equation. He shouldn't have any problems with getting an erection either.
The only option for men is to wear a condom. Most other contraceptive measures usually involve the woman.
Of course this procedure is permanent, so it should not be taken lightly. Be very sure before you do this.
I don't know the cost of this, but it shouldn't be too bad considering its quite simple.

Nothing changes after a man gets a vasectomy, except he will be “shooting blanks” and will never get you pregnant again. It is so simple. Don’t pay ANY attention to urban legends related to vasectomies.

The procedure is simple. Just go to a non-profit clinic that handles male and female fertility. They will set him up for a vasectomy. The surgery will take 15 min. If he gets it done on Friday, then he can be back to work on Monday.

I got mine back in 1988/89, and the cost was $250. Today in a non-profit clinic, the cost will be about $600.

If he goes to a private urologist the cost will be much higher, but insurance will probably cover it.

Also don’t listen to anyone that has not had one. All I ever hear on this is crap that is made up, or just some BS story about some guys brother-in-law’s cousin.

Teresa: I am going to send you a personal email on this sensitive subject describing the procedure. For the rest of the people reading this, a vasectomy stops him from being able to get anyone pregnant. The doctor he needs to see is a Urologist. Yes, he will be able to 'finish'. Nothing changes except for peace of mind. We go thru 9 months of pregnancy and most men are chicken to go get this simple 10-minute procedure done. Sissies, most of them. The 'other' option for men not getting a woman pregnant is abstinance. LOL

It sounds like he thinks he wont be able to ejaculate after he has the procedure but that is not true. He will be 'shooting blanks" though meaning he will ejaculate semen but there will be no sperm in it.

It's not because men are scared of surgery that they don't want to do this. It's because of the thought of having your balls cut off. That is what most men see it as, having their testicles cut off.

Just go to a non profit fertitlity clininc. Planned parenthood can help. They will tell you everything you need to know.

He will still orgasm the same as before. He will never know the difference.
