I'm not sure any of them could handle a job of sorting mail.

I'm serious, imagine you are hiring for a job of sorting mail, who would you hire?

I would blame it on the two party system. You never have to the best candidate to get elected, just the least incompetent.

They aren't any worse than the candidates anywhere else. Seriously, the British elected Tony Blair, the French choose Giuliani-clone Sarkozy over Hillary-clone Royal, and the Germans chose Angela Merkel and she flip-flopped on her economic positions.

Good politicians are simply a fantasy, no matter where you live. Look at Vladimir Putin, who has gassed some of his political opponents or Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the unpopular and incompetent president of Iran (this Keynesian has approval ratings at about 15% and he was democratically elected in free elections). Look at the leaders of Israel over the years (most of whom have been warmongers). Look at who was elected to run Palestine last year (Hamas, the terrorist group). There are few good politicians anywhere.

I'd personally take Ron Paul ( http://ronpaul2008.com ) over any other candidate in any other country. His plan includes ending the belligerent foreign policy (he even wants to end our policy of giving handouts to dictators in 3rd world countries), restoring our Constitution (which has been violated left-and-right by crooks for over a century), and strengthening our economy (one of his plans is to repeal the income tax and replace it with nothing, which would make America the world's largest and most powerful tax haven; he also intends to return America to a monetary system based upon precious metals). Amazingly, this guy is actually in the same party as the warmongering president of our country, but Ron Paul's record proves that he's for real.

Thats what happens when everyone buys into a one party system. Anyone who really thinks we have totally free elections in this country needs a ******* cat scan.
