The Wehrmacht's Special Uniform for Panzer Troops (Sonderbekleidung fur Panzertruppe)--the black rig based on ski clothing which was intended for wear on the vehicle, but became the all-purpose unifrom linked to the German panzer soldier. The color and the distinctive Death's Head insignia linked the panzertruppen to the old Imperal Leibhussars. (Not to be confused with the Death's Head worn by the SS--entirely different design!)
