Are there too many laws?

When does a law become null and void and how (ie Jim Crow Laws and Prohibition)? What is the process of removing laws from law books?

There are several methods to remove or change old laws:

- New laws are passed that supersedes the old law.

- New legislation is passed the completely nullifies the old law.

- Amendments are passed to the law that change or update it.

- The courts rule the law does not apply, is vague, or contrary to other laws or the Constitution, and so the law is nullified.
