I have a big problem with no cold water this time of year in Arizona. My house has the new plstic type of water pipes and not the normal copper. They are not insulated and they travel through the attic to get to where it needs to go in the house. The water that comes out of there is 100F give or take. No joke! I never need to use my hot water tank!
But it is not very refreshing and not good for laundry among other things. I need to figure out a way to get cooler water. I know they make pool coolers, but I have yet to find any type of "water cooler". I thought about have a hot water tank w/o the hot water, just for storage, but I would have no place to put it in the house.
If anyone can help, would be greatly appreciated.

Derek

I think it's more than just the attic. I think the supply from the city is hot as well. Doesn't matter how long we leave the cold water running, it will never cool down. Only the first run of water is cool since it is usually inside the house at that time.

since your lines 1st run in to your 140+ degree attic you will need to wrap those pipes with pipe insulation (available at home depot , lowes, and perhaps walmart. you should be able to reduce the heat increase to your cold water by 20 - 40 degrees depending on the time of year.
