If both of you want kids, then you absolutely should. You don't know if you'll die tomorrow or when you're 110, so don't worry about not being there for graduation or marriage. If you wait any longer, it might be too late and you may regret it. I have a daughter and I charish eveyday with her, because you never know how long you have with them.

Honestly??? Probably not. You're almost 60. Are you really going to get up in the middle of the night to feed a baby? Want to get down on the floor and crawl around and wrestle? Be able to play basketball in the driveway, or show the kids the right way to throw a football? Walk your daughter down the aisle when you're 83? And if anything happens to you God-forbid, you'll leave your kids without a father. Though I realize that any father could be taken from their family at any time, you have to admit that there is more of a risk with you. Again, no disrespect, but parenting is very energy consuming and I'm not sure that it would be fair! I commend you for wanting the experience, but there are a million kids out there that have been born to other parents that could benefit greatly from spending time with you!

Male life expectancy is appx 77 yrs, so as long as you and your wife are prepared for the eventuality of you not being there as your children age, then yes.
Many man have kids well into their 50's and up, but there are certain risk factors (downs, autism etc) that increase with both advanced maternal and paternal ages. Yoiu have to weigh the risks vs the benifits.

If your wife can physically and emotionally and financially care for the kids if you die early.
Believe me, I think about it all the time. I am 41, and my husband is 31. He has lots of energy, and is a great dad. If something should happen to me, I know our kids will be well cared for.

If this is something you feel strongly about and think of the future for the kids first and you are ok with it. Then go for it.
