I call my husband "Happy Pappy" and "Agapoulamou". He calls me "Boozy".
Just wondering if any of you have funny affectionate names for your significant others? I always think it's silly to hear the names that come up after couples have been together for a while...

i cant tell u how happy i am to see this question. my fiance and i must be the king and queen of stupid names! here are just a few ..
muffy
mushi
nudgeums
dujiboo
chinchilleta
.... and the worst thing is that from these make up names we give each other we invent stuff. like there are seven dujiboos in a duji. if a chinchilla walks on ur arm he gives ur dujis. but i give dujis too.
we eat nudgeums by the boxes.
its just gets gayer and gayer ...
and we love it! :o)

I call my husband Billy or Billy Goat or Monkey. His name isnt even close to billy or anything so its pretty funny when were around people we know and I call him "Bill". His name is Jimi BTW. Haha
He calls me "Cheetah".
Dont ask the meanings behind them because I cant even remember since weve been calling eachother those names for so long.

I usually just call him 'baby' or 'sweetie'.....just the normal stuff like that, haha.
Although sometimes I do call him 'daddy'. It's habit from having a little one running around and having to say 'daddy' so she knows who I'm talkin about!! haha.
Every once in awhile he calls me 'ma-ma'....but it's usually just 'babe'
every once in awhile we say goofy things and we'll use those as little nicknames for a day or two....but it usually wears off quick and just go back to whatever else, haha. There's always SOMETHING new for him to pick on me for!! haha

This may sound a little different to what you'd think was the usual type of affectionate name, but I call my wife "monkey".
It's because she's small, and hangs off my neck sometimes.

The term "honey" was taken by the colonists who went to settle in America, and it then died out in England, where it had originated. I believe Samuel Pepys called his wife "Honey". That was around the time of the Fire of London. 1666 You'd be pretty safe with "dearest", anyway.
