Yes they are. I think there is a small tactical difference though. President Clinton after the USS Cole incident wanted to use our Black ops, stealth ops and special forces to deal with Libya, Saddam Hussein & Bin Laden. Newt and the good old boys on the the committee that over see's the military, wouldnt let him. bush ( no typo ) went in for a full scale attack.

No question that ol' Ike was right about the industrial military complex. This country would slip into a depression of the magnitude we have never seen in the history of mankind though, if it is not allowed to produce for us. Witness what happened after WW I. No more weapon making, so our economy fell into the toilet and when President Kennedy was pulling us out of Vietnam, it looks like he was assassinated for tangling with it.

Regardless weather we like it or not, mankind seems to only thrive on one principle, one man must have dominance over another. Weather it be money, prestiege or just plain out bullying another group of people, we are facsinated by our own chest thumping and jumping up and down at another humans misery.

Ike had it right when he said he was frightened by the industrial military complex. He just never let us in on the secret on why and how afraid he really was.

Beholden? Do some research - the people that created the MIC did a fine job. They weaved large amounts of jobs into many different states - making it difficult for a senator of representative to kill a particular program because it probably would effect jobs, and in turn votes, in their state or district. Our society and country has been militarized - look around, the signs are there.

Another aspect to look at is how our country has maintained a large standing Army for the last 60 years. A large standing Army was something our founding fathers were very concerned about - and for good reason. But yet following WWII a large standing Army has become the norm, not the exception.

I am afraid that the entire earth will soon be beholden to the military complex, as we pass through tribulation with complete absence of rapture, and move into battles larger than Iraq. The last Battle will make world history, a little like the two hurricanes that made landfall on the same day recently, only these hurricanes come in threes.

The US as a whole is beholden to the military industrial complex, the oil companies and drug corporations.

It can't move or do anything politically, culturally or internationally without one of the three agreeing to it.

Politicians represent the nadir of honesty, so saying that one set of politicians is less honest than another is barely meaningful.

Democrats and Republicans take the same campaign contributions from the same special interests (all of whom like to hedge thier bets by giving to both sides).

I doubt the Democrats are less honest. At the moment, it's pretty hard to convince anyone that the Republicans are the party of honesty.

There are no party lines in the military industrial complex. We have a one party system in all reality.

I fairly desire she is familiar with have been the threats are interior the international and is basing her run on somewhat desirous to confront them.... yet her checklist might say diverse. I purely study another solutions.. Hillary replaced right into a youthful republican...i'm going to be damned.

Democrats in California and Virginia, yes.

Democrats on Oregon and Louisiana, definitely not.

Some states have high concentrations of "defense contractors", some are virtually bereft.

Of course. We're not against it at all, we just want our resources used properly.
