I came to Yahoo Answers in hopes of determining a good name for my upcoming child, but unfortunately people here were not helpful.

Therefore, I have decided not to name my child.

He or she can go without a name until he or she is 18, and at that point, he or she can select a name if desired.

I am wondering which states this is legal in. Also if it is not legal I am thinking of naming my child a number, "19154" is my favorite, let me know what you think of that

LOL... you're not going to name your child based on what people on HERE said about the list you came up with? Grow up dude. Naming a child is a personal choice, and it shouldn't really matte what people think. Besides, not everyone hated the list you came up with. Look at Dalice Nelson's response for gosh sake.
Grow up, quit being so immature about the whole thing, ask your girlfriend for her input, and name your child. And don't give him a number either. Ridiculous.

Think again because this is a human being. If you cannot find a name, then make the child a junior to your name like Lucielle Ball, Jr., did for her daughter. Sounds like you have more to think about than a name, like do you really want to be a parent and raise a healthy, happy child.

Girl's name - Healther Mariah
Boy's name - Benjamin or Bernie

How Picabo Street Got Her Name
(taken verbatim from the Salt Lake 2002 site)

"Name game Street's parents, Stubby and Dee, decided to let their daughter choose her own name when she was old enough, so for the first two years of her life she was known simply as "Little Girl." At the time, the Street family lived in Triumph, Idaho. South of Triumph is a town called Picabo. Stubby became interested in the town when the family first moved to Triumph in 1967 and started to read about the Picabo Indian tribe. When Street was 2, her mother took her to get a U.S. passport for a trip to Mexico. When Dee tried to write down "Little Girl" as Street's first name, the passport agent told her that wouldn't work and that the Streets had two weeks to name their daughter. During those two weeks, Street and her dad were playing the childhood game "peekaboo," causing Stubby to remember the town. They named her Picabo, which translated into English means "shining waters." At age 4, Street's parents gave her the option of changing her name, but she decided to keep it. "

Well you cant, but I mean thee are plenty of options. The reason you cant is becasue there are laws that say all names must be letters, not characters or number. Some guy tryed making his kind named & @. It didn't work.

But - You could appeal to a company, sell the name to like mobile or Microsoft. Go with your favorite super hero, Green Arrow was born a few weeks ago. Also - make it an anagram or obscure internet refrence. Like LMAO or LOLROXXER or YTMND..

So you want to like put a serial number on them instead of give them a name that you think best suits them? You shouldn't have to ask others what your own child's name is going to be. You and your partner need to do that together.

The mere fact that I am entertaining an answer to you really bothers me...however, my opinion is simply that I think you're insane. And insensitive. WHY would you choose to NOT name your child? And further more, why are you 'depending' on internet-based people to help you choose a name?? Ugh! Whatever! I think that people would agree, that you're ON YOUR OWN with this one.!!!

HA! lol! good one! Please do not name your child a number. And if you don't name your kid what are you gonna do to call them, "hey you!"? And if you have two nameless kids both going by 'hey you!' that's going to be confusing! Might I suggest going to: www.babynames.com. It's good for looking up new, creative names. For girls I like: Penelope, Nyssa, Lana, and Jada. For boys: Moses, Emilio, Ira, and Leroy. There are even more great names out there. You just might have to name your kid. lol!

You should probably allow the mother of the child to name him/her.
After all, she is the one who's housing the child in her body, and will the be the only one who experiences the pain of childbirth!

How can you call me unhelpful?????? I told you time and time again that your names were MARVELOUS. Plus? I always suggested a few of my own. And what did I ever get from you? A simple thank you? Never. Best Answer? Not a chance.

Well harumph to you.

P.S., Everyone knows that 19154 is a stupid number and that 6021 is better.

I have to say 19154 is better than Halibut or Raddissimon. Just let the mother name your kid and you can stay out of it's life until you have a little more sense.
