Anorexia may seem a long way away for those of you that want to go very thin by diets etc., but it is just around the corner.
Why do you feel it's good? Arms as thin as a twig? When I see a very skinny girl out on the streets that still think they're not thin enough, I think Yuk.
Food is meant to be eaten. It is biological to eat. Why refuse that?

People are told to think such things. Not too many people stuffing their faces on the covers of magazines, no airbrushing of jelly rolls or love handles ON anyone. All I can say is, all things in moderation. But, in cases where someone passes on the good stuff, that only means more for me!

From what I've heard and read, anorexia is a way for people to be in control. They may feel like they can't control anything in their world but they can be in control of what they eat and how much. It's also an issue with perfectionism. Girls especially who have tendencies towards perfectionism will try to achieve "the perfect body" as determined largely by the media and TV. I think if a person has a healthy body and can live a full life, then they should be thankful for the body they have and not be so focused on the imperfections. Instead, people just choose to see the flaws and live their lives trying to "fix" them when they could be enjoying themselves.

Exactly. But I take it you're a man. And us men will never understand women. I studied anorexia at college (psycology) and i'm still a bit baffled by it. Something must have made them unhappy with themself and no matter how much weight they lose they still see the old them. It is very sad, a truley horrible way to go.

I have 3 kids who are all healthy and well looked after and eat home cooked food.
The eldest, (F)15yrs, weighs around 8 stone
The youngest,(F)6yrs weighs around 4 and a half stone
the middle, almost(M) 11 weighs around 4 st 9lbs
Now I think he is too thin, but you should see him eat!
I think some of us are just thin naturally and it is wrong to assume all thin people go out of their way to be thin, my son doesn't!
True some people, do 'starve' themselves to achieve what they think is a good look, that is wrong.
Please do not assume all skinnies are starving themselves!

Neither too fat nor too thin is good. I think most people see it that way. Very skinny girls are just as nasty as fat girls.

Although, when you say "anorexia is just around the corner" I think that is a ridiculous thing to say. The vast majority of people are not too thin, they are too fat.

I think most of you who feel that anorexia is a huge problem are just tubbies who want to feel better about yourself. Obesity is a huge problem (pun intended) while anorexia is not.

anorexia as well as obesity is a psychological problem not a physical one. one can't eat the food while the other one can't stay away.i thank God that i don't have either one. they both are terrible diseases

food is meant to be eaten to meet your dietary needs, like air, you can't keep gulping, you only breath in what you need.

Thin is healthier but like you said to thin is just as bad as to fat.

I think people who crave to be like that have an illness and a fear of being bigger, even though it may seem like vanity, someone who damages their body to be like that needs some help.
