I believe that everything does happen for a reason. Most times, the reason is not readily known. But, in time, you said to yourself, " so, that's why " x " happened. For example, I lost my job because I missed too much time due to my ex-husband continually taken me to court. I ended up in the hospital with chest pains, difficulty with breathing, heart palpitations etc. So, I was " let go", which devastated me because I really loved my job. Well, the next month, my elderly Mom fell ad broke her hip. Since I am a RN, I was able to take care of her.My living room became her bedroom. I was able to provide care for her and, I was determined that she recover from her hip surgery ( Total Hip Replacement ). I helped her with her Physical Therapy exercises and Occupational exercises. I would have to sometimes be a like a "drill Sargent " to get her to do what she needed to do to help with her recovery process. She was quite discouraged and depressed because she was convinced that she lost her independence. I was able to get her to return to her water aerobics class 3 times a week. She is now living back at her own home and is walking without even a cane. She is back to her usual self. If I had to work while this occurred, who knows how well that she would of recovered. I encouraged her, gave her a positive attitude and , determination. So, again, everything does happen for a reason. I would of had to quit my job in order to take care of her because I was the best qualified to take care of her.

From a religious standpoint, I believe God has a reason for everything and we are not to question what his reasons are.
