Harris County Domed Stadium opened in 1965.
The first championship play game was on 12-April-1965, the Phillies defeating the Astros, 2-0. Dick Allen hit a 2-run HR in the third to account for all the scoring.
The Astros played an exhibition game against the Yankees some days earlier, in which Mantle went deep. The Astros like to talk about this because Mantle makes for a more interesting story than Allen does.
