i want to become a high school guidance counsler, so what should i major in at college????

Social work, psychology, education (teaching or adminstration), child development, family and community services.

Probably something in the realm of education, like a teaching degree, with certification would be good. But also you will need to get a Masters degree in educational counseling. Some States require that you have a teaching certificate before being granted into the Masters degree program, and sometimes even have a few years experience in the classroom as a teacher

I think you have to have an education degree and a degree in some sort of counseling, but not necessarily psychology. Why not call one of the local high schools and talk to the guidance counselor? You could also talk to a college advisor...if you are in college you should have already been assigned one. I believe a Master's degree is a must in the education department.
