I once watched a tv series about a hotel.It was a period drama and i am pretty sure it was a BBC production. The story covered the lives of the employees and guests at the hotel and it was so interesting. One of the main characters was a very famous actress,but infortunately i cannot remember her name. The only thing i remember was the end of the series when this famous actress bought the bancrupt hotel with a piece of jewelery she had...I have been searching for information,and i cant find anything. I watched the drama in around 2000-2002. Can you please help me..

A hotel and period drama makes me think of Duchess of Duke Street - though that's quite a bit earlier.

I do know that Dame Judy Dench was in a British tv show about that time. But I dont know anything about the plot. Perhaps that is her.
