better academic reputation; Rice or Vanderbilt?

which school would you guys choose?

I believe Rice has a very slightly better reputation, but as I understand it, neither are too shabby. If you make it into a school with that good of a reputation, one vs. the other doesn't make as much difference as how well you apply and distinguish yourself while you're there.

According to US News, they're both top 20 universities in the nation. I'd probably choose based on geography. I don't like Texas, so I'd choose Vanderbilt in all likelihood.
