I have SBC yahoo/AT&T DSL, but everytime it rains, it dies for sometimes up to a week. The Techs down there are either so stupid they have no idea, or just stumped. I've had it for about 9 months, they've changed my modem 3 times and said "I have no idea" about a million. I'm having a tech come in again today, but I'm not expecting much. They've actually said they've exhausted all their resources and offered to transfer me to someone else (for a lovely surcharge -_-;;) Anyone have any idea what's going on or what to do?

Somewhere between your house and the local exchange your phone line is getting waterlogged, and shorting.

Tell your phone provider to replace the cable or move your line to a newer piece, they can patch you to another cable fairly easily, probably without having to run miles of cables.

I had the same issue with my dsl dropping and it turns out an issue on their end an I was like ok you should owe me for trouble shooting my own setup and doing half your job.

besides the noisture posibility, have them double check the punch down in thier Central office and thier jumper boxes to verify if they did not do a cross wire punchdown. (wire that is looped partially) if the moisture is causing a crossover and killing the line ask that they replace the wires in the box that is nearest to you.
