Although there is a provision in the CPU, wherein there is provision for both, headfone USB and desktop USB, together. As per my choice, i was able to use headfone(so i donot disturb others in the home) or desktop speaker, if all of us want to hear music, But now its not working after reformatting of window xp on my compputer......any suggestion/help please

If you have USB headset, this will act as a new audio device anfd take over all sound activities when connected.
If the Speakers are a USB type (odd idea, most connect to 3.5mm jack at back of pc) then when the sound card card for that will be disabled when USB one connected.
You can ONLYU have 1 sound device activa at a time

Headphones override external speakers. If you want to use speakers, unplug headphones.
