I have a new HP a6110n. It has 2gb DDR2 RAM already, but I just bought a nvidia 7600 GT 256mb video card to play some games. Would the extra gig make much of a difference, how about 2 more gigs? Do new fans make a difference in performance? anyone know another way to boost performance?

You should get as much RAM memory as you can stuff in there. Prices are dropping periodically so wait until you like the price and then load up every memory slot. If the existing chips are not 1GB then replace them.

I think fans are more a matter of avoiding overheat problems that will cause chip failure. I have never heard of them improving the speed of a computer that already is running. If you do change the computer's clock speed to make the chips run faster you may need additional cooling but not to keep working at the existing speed.

That increasing clock speed (if do-able on your computer) is a popular improvement. Is the graphic card maxed out with its on-board RAM?

The more RAM you start with, the less difference adding more will make. I wouldn't expect to see any noticeable difference upgrading from 2GB to 3GB, except maybe in the most extreme situations.

There's no point adding fans unless something is running too hot. If you're into overclocking and you're running at the hairy edge, then you may need to add cooling; otherwise, don't worry about it.

definitely it would make a difference.

check first how much RAM your motherboard can handle before purchasing.

fans do help prolong the life of your rig. but they do not show difference in performance.

overclocking your processor shows a bit more performance increase but remember: overclocking = more heat. and i do not think stock fans would be able to compensate for that. you next solution would be a watercooled system.

domicile windows 7 32 bit heavily isn't waiting to handle all the greater area. as a manner to effectively use 4GB+ of RAM, you require a 64bit working equipment it is able to addressing all the available reminiscence. in case you do decide for to characteristic the extra reminiscence, that's in all probability which you will purely get 64MB-512MB out of the extra 1024MB. this relies upon especially on motherboard applications.
