We took a 3-hour trip in the spring, in a vintage five-car train, and we sat in the last car, which was not air conditioned, but you could open the window. It was great fun.

The same company is doing it again this fall for a Civil War re-enactment, but we'll pass. We've gotten hooked, though. We're looking for other day train trips, like the one in the Shenandoah Valley to see the fall foliage.

Yes. We have a train here in Southern Nevada which runs from the new railroad museum in Boulder City up to Railroad Pass in Henderson. It takes about a half hour each way.
But, we have something even weirder than that. They took apart an Ohio riverboat, shiped it west, reassembled it and put it out on Lake Mead. You can cruise a lake in the middle of the desert on a stern-wheeler river boat, while enjoying dinner or brunch. It's called the Desert Queen. Anyone planning to visit Las Vegas ought to check it out.

We have them in California. There is a short line railroad that goes up in the redwoods. In Jamestown there is a vintage type railroad that takes wine and dining tours, even gets held up by outlaws on horses. We do a lot of that sort of thing out here in the west. Also, we take the white water rafting trips. In fact we do a lot of non pollutant things out here.

Agoraphobia is very amenable to treatment. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is the treatment of choice for panic disorder with agoraphobia. Basically, the therapist and you will systematically expose you to the situations you fear, with the ultimate goal of an alleviation of your fears. CBT is and active, involved process, and after just a few weekly sessions you will be able to do much more than you currently can in a timely manner. Good luck!

I would love to do that, it sounds spectacular. Here in the Low-country, the trees really don't turn colors until December.
