What George W. did was take 9/11 and use it as an excuse to invade Iraq which has: cost the US the respect fo the rest of the world, increased terrorist activities everywhere, killed over 100,000 Iraqi civilians and 3500 US personnel and, I suppose a few hundred British soldiers and finally driven the price of oil into the stratosphere. That, combined with his "your with us or against us" posture, unwillingness to sign Kyoto and mouthing off about Venezuala has amde the US the most hated country in history and probably cemented its inevitable decline, following the Roman, Soviet and British empires from great to also ran.
Oh yeah, he also ran up the national debt and trade deficit to a very, very scary historical amount.

Bush tax cuts did help revive the economy. And did you know that even with all the deficit spending, it's easier to pay for now than in 1996 due to increased tax revenues? It took 16% of of tax revenues in 1996 to pay the interest on the national debt. In 2006 it took 10% of tax revenues. Heck, Bush policies keep up, we'll wind up with an enormous deficit that only takes a few percentage points of our tax revenues to pay the interest on!!!
