If you have your hopes pinned on Fred Thompson, I feel sorry for you.

Never mind the fact that he would be the oldest President ever if he won.

People will love that he is married to a domineering trophy wife:
Fred Thompson's 'trophy wife' runs the show

Even the Fundies don't like him:
James Dobson: 'Fred Thompson Worships Satan'

Police probably aren't lining up to support him:
Fred Thompson Opposed Bullet Proof Vests for Cops Hotlist

And what did Nixon think about him?

"Oh, s***! That kid? He's dumb as hell." -- Richard Nixon, on Watergate tapes, after being told Fred Thompson was hired as Republican counsel

I would like to close with the most damning thing against him.
He's a HORRIBLE actor

Further fragmentation of the Republican Party. There seems to be no clear front runner and so votes in primaries will be siphoned off by a variety of candidates. Those who are not fans of the winner will not be as inclined to vote in the general election. This is going to be a very interesting election.

I like what he has to say and I like his voting record...and for all the ones who say he is an actor...he was a Senator from Tennessee from 94-03..before he was an actor...

Way too early to tell. I mean, usually most candidates haven't announced yet.
I am anxious to see him in a debate and hear him on the issues. So far, he is looking like our best choice.
Maybe Thompson/Huckabee...who knows, ask again in 6 months.

I don't know much about him yet, I will be doing research now. I hope he is good enough to give the Dem's a run for their money.

I think he is benefiting from the fact that he has had little exposure thusfar and the fact that Guliani is a rino. I think he is going to have some tough questions to answer about his past as a lobbyist and some of the people he lobbied for that appear to go against the things he says he stands for.

Gives us another choice. A better choice than most of the candidates out there.

IT SHOULD MAKE THINGS VERY INTERESTING. IF HE DOESN'T WIND UP ON THE TICKET HE WOULD BE AN EXCELLENT CHOICE FOR A CABINET POST UNDER GIULIANI OR ROMNEY.

Do not know enough about the man's politics, or his vision of America.
I know he was a Senator, and was on Law & Order.
