I used a boppy pillow with my daughter and I used a bumbo seat for my son. The bumbo seat was awesome! They kinda suction to any smooth surface and they are rubbery feeling. I would suggest anyone who has a baby that is ready to sit to get one. I started using my for my son when he was around 12 weeks old and he loved being in it.

I used a seat called "Bumbo" when my son was about 4 1/2 months old. He was in no rush to sit up.
As long as your baby has good control of his head you should be able to use it, though 15 weeks does seem a little young.
You should definitely buy the seat, they are great for feeding those first foods to the baby in addition to helping them learn to sit up.
Try it out, some babies hit milestones before ohters, if your seems ready to sit, he might love the seat.

My daughter always liked to be sat up when very young, i looked into getting one of those bumbo seats but in the end decided against it as i thought £30 was a bit steep for something she'd only use a few months. I ended up getting her a Galt Playring with the activity gym over it, it was an absolute godsend. I would put her in it and put a couple cushions at her side to keep her sat up, other times i would lie some cusions flat inside the ring so she could lie down and look at the items on the gym and as she got stronger and bigger i didn't use any cushions and removed the gym and just sat her in it playing with some toys.
When she was about 6 months old we got her a Cotoons comfy seat, it's like a little inflatable chair with a little play table that attaches to it, she loved it.
She is now 15 months old and likes to dive over the playring and she turns it upside down and bounces on it and still loves her very own cotoons seat.

I just recently bought a Bumbo seat for my 15 week old daughter and she really enjoys it! Just make sure that before you put your baby in one of these kinds of seats that s/he can support their own head most of the time. These seats rely on the baby's own weight to support the baby in the seated position, so also make sure your baby is big/strong enough to be in a seated position. I think the Bumbo seat is a great tool to help the baby learn what sitting up is supposed to feel like and these kinds of seats are also endorsed by pediatric and orthopedic faculties so I feel comfortable that it won't harm my daughter's development. Good Luck!

Buy the Bumbo seat! I bought it for my son when he was 3 months old. He was very active and always wanted to be upright to see what was going on. He did really well in it when he was that young, and I believe it helped him develop his neck and back muscles a lot. He absolutely loves the seat, and he is 6 months now! You can buy a tray to go with it and I am using it for playtime and for feeding.

My boy loved his bumbo and we can still use it to feed him if we are going somewhere without a high chair (9 months now), so has been worth every penny. Baby must be able to support her own head to sit in it. I don't agree with people who say it stunts development - quite the opposite, I think it aids it. And it's supported by all kinds of orthopedic specialists who say that too.
All that said, babies who cannot sit unaided NEED plenty of time lying on their back and tummy, so don't overuse it.
Good luck!

My son is 13 weeks and the same way. Even in his sling he wants to sit up. I use a boppy pillow to prop him up. I didn't want to get him the Bumbo seat because his neck is still not very stable. Sometimes I prop pillows behind him and let him sit in the corner of our sofa (supervised, of course).

Bumbo!! They are the BEST! They're made of a strong foam so they're comfortable but they still hold the baby in very well. They are super easy to wipe down if you want to use it as a feeding chair later on. My daughter loved hers! Look in the source for a link :-) They sell them at Babies R Us, Target, and even in some Bj's and Sam's clubs.

If you mean a bumbo seat you can use them from around 6 weeks according to their website. I bought my son one and he hates it, he only lasts in it 20 seconds or so and then he wants out, it was the biggest waste of 30 quid ever for me.

Just let him struggle, use a boppy or some pillows to help him. Its the struggling that helps him gain those muscles and more importantly balance (which he doesnt get from the bumble or other seats.).
My son was sitting by 16 weeks, and he was exactly like yours when he started. Always pulling himself up to sit and flopping around. Just help him help himself.
