Attack of the Killer Shrews...
shrews(rodent cousins) eat their own body weight in meat every day and more. This movie was about people on an island finding out too late that shrews grew to dog size because of an experiment...and now that they had eaten all the wildlife on the island...all that was left...were these human beings....
They are in a cabin at the end and the shrews start to try to break in...and though I knew that these were dogs dressed up in makeup...there is a moment where one of the shrews breaks through door and gets in...and the way it acts...still freaks me out.
I bought the dvd after not having seen this movie for over thirty years...and that scene is still beyond creepy. That it still gives me the heebee jeebies doesn't quite cover it. Yeesh...

There was a film in the 60s called 'The Day of the Triffids', I saw it at our local cinema which was a mile away, I remember running home with my eyes closed, no street lights, it was as dark as pitch.
My youngest son, when Tom Baker was Dr Who, used to run behind the sofa when the programme was starting, he used to say, tell me when he's gone, after the start of the programme, he came to the front and watched the whole show, it was the introduction that used to frighten him.

The voice over for the commercial for the food processor La Machine in the '70s. I think in was either Vincent Price or somebody that sounded like him. The voice over would repeat the words La Machine in an eerie voice as things were ground up in the food processor (shot from weird angles). It came accross as a horror movie commercial than trying to sell something for the kitchen.

Carrie by Stephen King the film with John Travolta and Sissy Spacek in it - I watched it when I was about 4 and I haven't faced watching it again even though I'm a fully grown adult and have (I'm sure) watched much worse!
