Some do, some don't- it depends on several factors. For one, traditional thongs have a much wider "butt-floss" part, so they do tend to chafe between your cheeks, but the kind called a G-string has such a skinny little floss area that it feels like nothing's between the old cheeks, so they're definitely more comfortable.
Secondly, it's about size. Women love to buy underwear that is smaller than they actually need, because nobody wants to see the word Large on their panties. As a result, many women try to stuff themselves into thongs that are too small, which can cause some major wedgie pain, not to mention chafing and the possibility of an infection. As for me, I find that if I stick to G-strings and get the right size (it was painful to throw away all those old "small" ones and upgrade to medium, but you have to sometimes...) they can be quite comfy. Better than full-back ones, which just ride up anyway.

well untouchable seems a new thing to hear...but yes if u wear them day long or u have excessive lower body movement like walking running or going up and down...then they do hurt the private parts...rather make is a bit sore...use them for flirting but do not use them as regular undergarments...

They don't hurt or dig unless you do not get the right size. With the right size, they can be very comfortable.
