My car is a honda accord, 1997cc, year of make, 1994.
I have the special tool for holding the crankshaft pulley. Still I just cannot unscrew the pulley bolt even though the crankshaft pulley is stationary. I am using the right size deep nose socket wrench, i.e., 19mm. socket. Help please.

on most of them you have to use a impact wrench on them ,air impact at that ,that's the only way i can loosen most of them,its hard to do by hand,good luck on it.

As everybody says, normal thread but extremely tight. If you are adventurous there is an old trick I used once and never again. Put a socket on the bolt with the handle on the right side as you look at it from the end. Put a jack stand under the handle and make sure it is well settled by jacking up the driver's side of the front of the car an inch or two, then letting it down so the handle is well and truly pressing on the jack stand. Take a deep breath and hit the starter for a fraction of a second - no more. The front of the car will rise alarmingly (nobody warned me about that part!) and, with luck, the bolt will have broken free. Note - this trick can't be used with Hondas, most of which run counterclockwise. I had used a variation before that, with a helper jamming the flywheel and putting a floor jack under the socket handle. I use an impact wrench now, which is the classy way to do it.

Crank bolts are usually installed with Locktite thread locking sealer to prevent them from coming loose and very hard to remove---you may need to get a breaker bar on the socket or a 2 foot long piece of pipe that goes over the socket wrench handle to get the leverage needed to remove it. Make sure it's not a reverse thread bolt also---Chilton or Haynes shop manuals should have the procedure and any difference in the bolt threading.

I had the same problem on my 88 Alfa Romeo Spider when I had to change my water pump. I had to remove the crank pulley.

It required a 1 1/2 in socket and I put it on an electric impact wrench but it didn't move it.

My son who was a past auto mechanic brought his 2 foot long breaker bar and put it on the bolt and braced it and told me to just do a quick crank on the starter and it broke loose.

Hit the bottom or handle of the rachet with a hammer. A quick turn will start it to loosen.
