I am 5 months pregnant with a little boy. We have decided that we love the name Carter we just really don't know what will go good with it. We really like Elijah Carter but his brother (who is a dead beat, selfish, butthead...putting it nicely) is named Eli and I don't want people to think that our son is named after him. Any help would be awesome! Thank you so much!!

Okay I know this is going to look strange but another variant of Elijah is Alijah. If you spell it that way it looks nothing like Eli!! Elliot is also a variant of Elijah. I think Alijah Carter sounds and looks different and intersting.

Carter is nice as a middle name- to me it's a little "cold" for a first name. If you really like the name Elijah, name the baby that- you don't have to shorten it to Eli, and you surely don't owe anyone any explanations as to why you chose a name.
