The National Audit Office keeps the figures and they also authorise payment of public funds to each government department. They are unlikely to release this information at the present time.

All sorts of figures will be bandied about none of which will be accurate. given that they do not really know how much the NHS costs i don't think they will have much of an idea. I have never been able to understand why they do not use commercial accounting practises in government finance for all departments
