they would probably auction it, maybe you can just tell me where it is I'll complete the payments, they might put the remaining balance on your credit

If you abandon the house eventually it will be forclosed on and you will lose it. Plus it will distroy your credit. FInally, it the irs will consider the amount of the foreclosed loan to be income, so you will have a huge tax bill due the irs for whenever you do return to the US

If you want a super fast solution, email me. I am a real estate investor, and I have contacts with investors who would be willing to buy your house, or do a long term lease, and can close in just a couple of days.

You are just going to abandon your house? That's crazy.

Your credit will be destroyed and you will end up being sued for the shortfall when the bank sells your house.

Why don't you hire a realtor and sell it? You don't have to be here to sell your house. You can give power of attorney to someone else.

Talk to a Realtor.

Bank will eventually foreclose and sell. Will go on your credit as a foreclosure, a deficency balance may be left for you to pay and all will screw your credit.

Appoint a POA to someone to sell it and pay if off for you. Hire an atty if you must

The first mortgage company will eventually take possession and resell the property to recoup their loan value. You do not get any profits from the sale.

Unless you don't plan to ever return to the country and/or file for credit, don't do it.
